The Giving Circle of HOPE, a 501(c)3 component fund of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, has invested more than $1.2 million dollars in the Northern Virginia community since its founding in 2004. The organization awards project and capacity building grants to local nonprofits with budgets under $1 million.

THE GREATER GOOD HAPPENS TOGETHER

Whether you’re new to giving, an established member who wants to get more involved,

or a neighbor looking for ways to volunteer in Northern Virginia,

our organized events are a great place to start. 

 

We’re always eager to meet others who want to make a difference in our community

and you’re always welcome to contribute at a level that’s comfortable for you.

PAST EVENTS

October 17 | TOGETHER WE GIVE

Leidos Conference Center

Together We Give is a real-time demonstration of collective giving and showcases the impact that giving circles can make.  Guests had an opportunity to engage with representatives from area nonprofits who pitched their projects and attendees then voted to award small grants from the proceeds of the evening.  Hispanics Against Child Abuse & Neglect was the most voted for nonprofit.

JULY 10 | MEET & MINGLE

CLARITY RESTAURANT

VIENNA, VA

Members and their guests came together to enjoy fine wines and delectable nibbles.  The featured nonprofit was A Simple Gesture, a bi-monthly, food collection program that provides non perishables to area pantries.

RESTON COMMUNITY CENTER

Members and interested neighbors were invited to participate in our premier event showcasing our 2019 grantees and learn about how these organizations are making a difference in our communities. Our eight grantee organizations - plus our two endowment grantees - had information booths to explore while guests sipped and toasted their success.

This year marked the 12th Anniversary the Giving Circle of HOPE hosted Empty Bowls to benefit Food for Others.  The dedication of loyal volunteers and a strong commitment from artists and local businesses have helped to evolve this fundraiser into a stand-out community event.
